Amanda Trickey
Owner | CEO
Amanda has been a dedicated marketing professional since 2012, with an entrepreneurial spirit that has driven her long before that. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 2011, she developed her expertise in digital marketing and creative editing while serving a wide range of industries, including business-to-business, medical, home services, and nonprofits.
In 2022, Amanda founded Modern Marketing & Media LLC, building the company from the ground up and growing it to serve more than 100 clients across the greater Houston area and beyond in just two short years. Under her leadership, the company was honored as the 2025 Business of the Year by the Southwest Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. Amanda is passionate about leading her team and using her creative and strategic expertise to help businesses grow and achieve their goals. She is also a proud graduate of the Leadership North Houston Class XXX, completing the program in spring 2025.
Amanda is deeply committed to her community. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Southwest Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and is actively involved with the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce and the Tomball Education Foundation. She is also the founder and current President of Tidy Up Tomball, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the community and local businesses together to beautify Tomball through bi-annual trash clean-up initiatives. Her past service includes teaching marketing classes for small business owners at Lone Star College Tomball.
When she’s not serving her clients or the community, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, and their three dogs. She also enjoys home improvement projects, gardening, interior decorating, and traveling.
Jared Trickey
Chief Financial Officer
Jared is responsible for the financial management and strategic planning of Modern Marketing & Media.
Jared began his career as a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer after graduating from Texas A&M University in 2012 and still works full time in the industry at a large mechanical seal manufacturing company in Houston.
In his spare time, Jared oversees the financials, provides strategic financial guidance to the executive team and is responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that align with Modern Marketing & Media’s goals and objectives, as well as managing financial risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Jared and Amanda operate as a Husband/Wife team and have been together since 8th grade. Together they have two boys and 3 dogs.
Ashley Siegel
Digital Marketing Team Lead
Meet Ashley, a dedicated Social Media Manager with a passion for Halloween and video games. Since kickstarting her career in 2012, Ashley has excelled in building lasting client relationships and developing strategic, impactful social media campaigns.
Outside the office, she immerses herself in the latest video games and enjoys relaxing walks at the dog park with her three beloved dogs. A fun fact about Ashley is her deep love for Halloween, which inspired her to choose it as her wedding day!
Whether she’s engaging with online communities or delving into fantasy worlds, Ashley brings enthusiasm and commitment to all her endeavors.
Melu Mercado
Project Manager
Melu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a Master of Business Administration. With nearly 20 years of experience, she specializes in project and operations management, helping fast-moving teams work efficiently and deliver with clarity.
Dependable, proactive, and detail-oriented, Melu is known as the go-to person who brings structure to complexity and ensures nothing slips through the cracks. She takes pride in her work and is committed to excellence in every project she leads.
Melu is a member of the National Charity League Lady Bird Chapter and the Young Men’s Service League Katy Chapter. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their triplets, and their golden doodle, crafting, and cheering on her kids in their activities. Her favorite holiday is Christmas.
Carmen Maglitto
Digital Marketing Specialist
Carmen’s passion for design & creativity started at a young age and has been a driving force throughout her marketing career. As a Content Creator & Social Media Manager, she launched and managed social media content across various platforms, utilizing Canva and Photoshop to design graphics and videos!
In addition to her professional experience, she is bilingual in English and Spanish. In fact, Spanish is actually her first language as she was born in Quito, Ecuador!
Carmen does a fantastic job growing our client’s social media accounts through community and business to business engagement and helps create inclusive content for our clients who require both English and Spanish copywriting!
When she not managing social media accounts or creating content, she is spending time with her husband and son.
Presley Chumley
Digital Marketing Specialist
Presley is a graduate of Texas State University, where she earned her degree in Advertising with a minor in Business Administration. As part of the social media team, she thrives on being hands-on — whether she’s out at content collections, crafting engaging and on-brand posts, or brainstorming fresh ideas that reflect each client’s unique voice.
She’s passionate about cultivating strong relationships with clients and truly enjoys getting to know the people behind the businesses. Presley also has a love for event planning and finds joy in organizing meaningful, well-executed experiences. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling to explore new places and gather fresh inspiration. Always focused on growing her skills, she stays inspired by continuing to learn and take new classes in her field.
Lacey Dillon
Website & Content Coordinator
Lacey spent 19 years in the veterinary field, where she discovered her love for marketing. For eight of those years, she managed social media and took on various marketing roles, which ultimately led her to pursue this passion full-time.
Outside of work, Lacey loves spending time with her husband, two kids, and their dog, Paxton. Her favorite place to be is on the sidelines, cheering at her kids’ games.
She loves being part of a company that values local outreach and is passionate about supporting the growth of businesses in the Tomball community where she’s proud to raise her children.
Brittany Smith
Digital Marketing Specialist
Brittany is a marketing professional with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Sam Houston State University. Since graduating in 2017, she has built a diverse career working with small businesses, startups, and million-dollar franchises, helping brands grow their awareness and achieve measurable success. Brittany is passionate about building meaningful client relationships and creating strategies that make an impact.
Outside of work, Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons. She also loves crafting and finding creative ways to bring joy into everyday life.
Laura Torres
Social Media Manager
Laura is our Social Media Manager, where she helps clients with managing multiple accounts, building strong client relationships, and producing scroll-stopping content with personality and purpose.
She recently moved to Houston and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. Before Houston, she was in College Station attending Texas A&M University where she graduated with her BA in Communication with a minor in Film Studies in 2022. After that, she graduated with her MS in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2023.
Through her experience, she’s previously worked with various organizations and companies that has allowed her to gain knowledge on all things marketing and social media. She’s currently involved as an alumna with Alpha Phi Omega and Alpha Delta Pi. Outside of work, she has a passion for volunteering, podcasting, and shopping!
Sharon Kratz
Content Writer
Sharon began her career as a display advertising salesperson and worked as a typesetter, copywriter, and marketing assistant for many years before joining IBM as a text/graphics professional. She also spent 3 years working with minority-led companies at NASA. Sharon & her husband lived and sailed the Caribbean in their boat for over 10 years; they now make their home in Tomball.
Her published works include magazine series “Cruising in the Comfort Zone,” Sailing the Western Caribbean,” “Got Ice?” and the flash-book, Nieto.
Sharon’s experience has assisted her as she writes blogs and newspaper-style articles for online content. She believes strongly in Modern Marketing & Media’s business transformation strategy for small- to mid-size organizations.
Florine Ellis
Community Outreach
Florine recently retired after over 20 years of running her own CPA firm in Round Rock, Texas. She brings to the Modern team invaluable knowledge of business development, all things taxes and business to business relations.
Florine does a fabulous job keeping up with our books, business development, and also fostering relationships within our community at various networking events.
She has lived in Tomball for a little over 2 years now and is loving it. If you see her out and about be sure to say hello!
