Meet the Team

Amanda Trickey

Owner | CEO

Amanda has been in the marketing field since 2012 but her entrepreneurial spirit started long before that. As a little girl you could find her selling lemonade or catching lady bugs to sell door to door to the neighbors. 

After graduating from Texas A&M University in 2011, she spent time working in the marketing industry while growing her digital marketing knowledge and creative editing skills. She gained valuable experience in serving a variety of industries including business to business, medical, home services, non-profits, and many more. 

In 2022 she decided to combine her childhood dream of becoming a business owner and her passion for digital marketing and founded Modern Marketing & Media, LLC.

When she isn’t serving her clients, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys and their dogs. She is often working on a home improvement project and loves interior decorating and design, gardening and traveling.

Jared Trickey

Chief Financial Officer

Jared is responsible for the financial management and strategic planning of Modern Marketing & Media. 

Jared began his career as a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer after graduating from Texas A&M University in 2012 and still works full time in the industry at a large mechanical seal manufacturing company in Houston. 

In his spare time, Jared oversees the financials, provides strategic financial guidance to the executive team and is responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that align with Modern Marketing & Media’s goals and objectives, as well as managing financial risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Jared and Amanda operate as a Husband/Wife team and have been together since 8th grade. Together they have two boys and 3 dogs.

Carmen Maglitto

Social Media & Graphic Design Assistant

Carmen’s passion for design & creativity started at a young age and has been a driving force throughout her marketing career. As a Content Creator & Social Media Manager, she launched and managed social media content across various platforms, utilizing Canva and Photoshop to design graphics and videos!

In addition to her professional experience, she is bilingual in English and Spanish. In fact, Spanish is actually her first language as she was born in Quito, Ecuador!

Carmen does a fantastic job growing our client’s social media accounts through community and business to business engagement and helps create inclusive content for our clients who require both English and Spanish copywriting!

When she not managing social media accounts or creating content, she is spending time with her husband and son.

Kathryn Herndon

Social Media & Graphic Design Assistant

With over a decade of marketing experience, Kathryn’s career has been driven by her early passion for design and creativity. As a seasoned marketing professional, she not only excels in launching and overseeing social media content and campaigns across various platforms, but also brings a wealth of expertise in many roles that marketing can play to help grow a company.

Originally from California, Kathryn is a graduate of California State University, Northridge, with a bachelor’s degree in sociology, and Santa Barbara City College, where she earned an associate’s degree in information technology. Her family’s deep ties to law enforcement and the military have instilled in her a profound respect for these institutions, fostering a strong sense of community. This background enriches her global perspective and significantly influences her marketing approach. 

Kathryn excels in cultivating our clients’ social media presence through community and business-to-business engagement. 

Beyond her professional pursuits, Kathryn finds joy in quality time with her family, exploring new destinations and indulging in her love for scuba diving. 

Florine Ellis

Client Relations Manager

Florine recently retired after over 20 years of running her own CPA firm in Round Rock, Texas. She brings to the Modern team invaluable knowledge of business development, all things taxes and business to business relations.

Florine does a fabulous job keeping up with our books, business development, and also fostering relationships within our community at various networking events. 

She has lived in Tomball for a little over 2 years now and is loving it. If you see her out and about be sure to say hello!
